Go Time!

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday! Today's the day! Here's my agenda thus far:
6:30 am Meet John for breakfast.
By 7:30, be out on the road and heading down Route 1.

Route 1 will head back "up" north a bit, before curling back around southerly. Your asking yourself, Why go the long way? Why not take the shorter route (and there are a couple of short cuts with Snow Mobile trails and back roads? My best answer is that we will continue to stay on Route 1 as much as possible. We will come across Route 1A, which from my understanding stays by the water, but we will make the turns to stay on Route 1. Our intention is to stay on Route 1 unless it combines with a Interstate (like I95). Then a detour will be necessary, and figured out at that point.

John will be my partner in this endeavor, and was in my last crossing as well. We have decided how best to do this, and have come up with this strategy: We will begin each day together. We discuss our mileage for the day, the weather, and how we're feeling. We will ebb and flow throughout the day at our own pace, taking care of ourselves, our feet, our bodies. Then, we will meet at night at our designated meeting spot. We discuss this every morning, and plan the day. Sometimes things will go astray due to weather and our own needs, but we will make every effort to stay in the same town/place each evening.

So with that said, today our plan is to go 45 miles to Van Buren. Is there a shorter way there? Yes, but we will go Route 1 and stay the course. This makes it easier to keep track of each other, and easier for our families to know where we might be. John and I both have our Spot Gen 3 satellite trackers going, as cell service is poor off and on on Route 1.

Yes, we are starting late today, and it's a long mileage day, too. But I'm on vacation, and it's all going to be okay. Many days we will start earlier, but John requested we start the day at a (later) regular time, with a big breakfast first. And we shall.

My cart is ready, and I've gotten my encouragement from David and Lauren early this morning, to go out and have fun! The weather looks fantastic, there is a generous shoulder, and we will see what the day brings. It's going to be good!

Have a wonderful Tuesday,
Cyndi
