So many surprises

It's been a few weeks of surprises here on the farm, and I'm looking forward with sharing them with you. I'll get the blog post finished this weekend, and share my fun adventures with you.

In the meantime, here's one surprise that will be one of "how was that a surprise?" but somehow, I missed these sweet things who started a clutch of eggs and sitting on them so far under a fan (in the barn) that I could not see them.......until I heard them and actually saw them all.

Granted, this could only happen because I had a rooster here. That rooster was Jonas, the silkie rooster of Lauren and Ryan's that I was keeping for them. And BOOM, now he's a dad. The location of these two hens (a black frizzle, Georgia and a splash silkie named Splash) kept their little sweet secret(s) well hidden.

They are the BEST mamas that any chick could ever ask for and will be raised in the barn by their mamas. I do have them contained and as safe as possible in the barn, until the chicks grow and get big enough to be out in the gen-pop.

So many wonderful things happening out here.......
